Sabbir Rahman hands Bangladesh 1-0 lead

Bangladesh profited from an ascertained 46 from Sabbir Rahman as the hosts edged Zimbabwe by four wickets in the initial Twenty20 global in Khulna on Friday (January 15). Set a fair focus after Zimbabwe were limited to 163 for 7, Bangladesh came to 166 for 6 with eight balls close by to take 1-0 lead in the four-match arrangement.

Zimbabwe made standard leaps forward yet couldn't stop the run stream as Tamim Iqbal (29), Mushfiqur Rahim (26) and Shakib Al Hasan (20 not out) all made better than average commitments to Bangladeshs triumph. Sabbir confronted 36 balls and hit four limits and a six, exploiting a dropped get by Vusi Sibanda off Sean Williams when he was on 36.

Prior, Hamilton Masakadza and Sibanda put on a record 101-run opening association for Zimbabwe after Elton Chigumbura, the captain, won the hurl and picked to bat first at the Sheik Abu Naser Stadium. Masakadza hit 79 off 53 balls, equalling his own particular national record for the most elevated individual T20 innings, while Sibanda struck 46 off 39.

Bangladesh did well to limit Zimbabwe in the last couple of overs, regardless of Masakadza and Sibanda breaking the group record, set by Sikandar Raza and Chamu Chibhabhas 100-run association against Afghanistan in October. Bangladesh needed to sit tight until the twelfth over for their first leap forward when Sibanda was at last gotten at square-leg by Tamim Iqbal off Shakib Al Hasan.

Shakib dropped Masakadza on 73 off Mustafizur Rahman, yet Nurul Hasan, the debutant wicketkeeper, guaranteed it didn't cost the group much by completion his innings six runs later with a splendid toss for a run out. Presently, Rahman knocked down some pins Chigumbura and Luke Jongwe off successive balls to complete with 2 for 18, preceding AlAmin Hossain got two wickets in the last over. Zimbabwe needed to settle for a generally unobtrusive score, grabbing only 21 keeps running for five wickets in the last four overs.

The second match of the arrangement will be held at the same ground on January 17. source - cricbuzz
